Instagram now offers to pin favourite comments

Instagram regularly gets new features and now offers to pin comments. The social platform, which has gotten used to being inspired by its competitors, wants to tackle harassment with its new function.

 Tested for a few weeks, it allows users to highlight up to three comments of their choice. Once pinned, they will appear directly under the caption of the publication. A practical tool which aims to encourage positive interactions on the social network.

Instagram continues to fight harassment

For a few years, Instagram has been trying to make its platform more welcoming by fighting against harassment and fake news.

 The American firm also relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning to tackle publications deemed offensive or shocking. Its new function could also appeal to the most popular brands and users, by making it possible to highlight positive comments. To use it, just swipe a comment to the left and select the pin icon. Note that it is also possible to report or delete a comment from this menu.

In recent months, these initiatives have multiplied on social networks. Twitter, therefore, hides some unwanted comments and tests a function to choose who can respond to a tweet.
